Note that each question had a the same format for answering, it was done in the following way

  • Using radio buttons, where only one could be selected

  • During this hospital stay how often did the nurses treat you with courtesy and respect
  • During this hospital stay how often did nurses listen carefully to you

  • During this hospital stay, after you pressed the button how often did you get help as soon as you wanted it

 

About care from the doctors

  • We want to know your overall rating of your stay at this hospital (where 0 is the worst hospital possible and 10 is the best hospital possible)

  • Based on your experience of this hospital stay, can you think of a nurse who stood out for you in a positive way?

  • Please provide the full name of the nurse and ward (please complete only if you have the name of the nurse)

  • Please describe what he/she did to care for you

My answer: One nurse was very comforting when I was about to put under anesthetic. The nurses were generally all very pleasant and helpful.

 

The survey then has another section which is a little controversial and I will explain why in the next post
